Ireland makes for a top choice for solo backpackers as an incredibly photogenic country that meets the needs of any long or short-term guest. Legendary hospitality is embodied by the term ‘cead mile failte’ translation to ‘Hundred Thousand Welcomes,’ an adage to good manners. There are plenty of crazy activities to do while in Ireland, many of the festivals including Killorglin Puck Fair where a goat is crowned king in Killorglin. However, the most traveled to event for Ireland must be St. Patrick’s day, a homage to St. Patrick, the Irish patron saint, which celebrates togetherness, acceptance and honest-to-god fun for all people from all walks of life.
