The unsurpassed Glass Beach is similar to other patches of sand and shoreline found throughout Hawaii and other Pacific Islands. The beautiful display of stunning smooth multicolored pieces of glass was originally formed from years of trash dumped along the coastlines. Over time, the individual pieces were naturally polished and swept along the beach in an illustrious display of shine and color. Although this attraction is an incredible scene for photography and also a very family-friendly experience to take advantage of, the glass is actually protected by the local government. This phenomenon was caused by the dispersing of vehicle tail lights and other such garbage in the earlier years of California and has resulted in a valuable tourist attraction protected by ensuring that class is left for future visitors to appreciate.
