Another great spot flooded with eager tourists on a daily basis is Xi'an, a large city and the capital of Shanxi province in Central China. Acting as a transportation hub for this region of China, Xi'an provides many different styles of getting from one destination to another, a large part of this particular city's success. However, there is a more significant attraction here widely regarded as one of the most significant heritage sites, not only in Xi'an but also the world. A cultural icon was buried here generations ago with the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang: the Terracotta Army, which are thousands of life-sized hand carved stone soldiers, meant to protect the buried site and leader in his afterlife.
