Perhaps the most iconic natural symbol of Europe is the White Cliffs of Dover. Located on the coast of Great Britain, the cliffs are geographically situated closest to the rest of the European body and may be seen from the coast of France on clear sunny days. Cliffs of Dover are comprised of a chalk based formation, a fine-grained pure limestone makeup which provides for the unique appearance which they are so well known for across the globe.There is a plethora of history and culture associated with this natural wonder, including battles dating back to World War II and more. Regardless of the intent of travelers, the White Cliffs of Dover should be added to anyone's list who is eager to view a spectacular destination and learn a captivating history.
